Sign #12:  You feel like you’ve outgrown your current situation or environment.

Another strong indicator that you may be ready for a change is feeling like you’ve outgrown your current situation.

As we grow personally & gain life experience, it’s no surprise that our needs, desires, and values can shift or change all together. It can lead to a sense of restlessness and a longing for something new and more meaningful.

Feeling like you’ve outgrown your current situation is a natural part of personal growth. Embrace it as a launchpad for self-discovery, expansion, and moving in a direction that recognizes your evolving needs and aspirations. Trust in your intuition and have the courage to pursue new paths that reflect the person you’ve become.

Start by exploring where you’re currently at.

Step 1. Grab a pen and
• Describe your current situation or environment that you feel you’ve outgrown.
• Identify specific areas where you feel stagnant, or unfulfilled.
• Consider how long you’ve been in this situation and the impact it has on your overall well-being.

Step 2. Clarify Your Evolving Needs and Desires:
• Do some good thinking about the changes you’ve experienced internally, such as shifting values, changing interests, hopes or goals.
• Describe how your needs and desires have evolved over time.
• Try to identify areas of your life that no longer support your growth or align with your authentic self (who you are now and/or who you want to become)

Step 3. Envision Your Ideal Future:
• Visualize the future you want, one that reflects & meets your evolving needs.
• Imagine a situation or environment where you feel challenged, stimulated, and you feel truly yourself. Write it down and be as specific as you can. Does it involve the type of work you do? The relationships you’re in? Or your overall lifestyle?

Step 4. Explore Alternative Opportunities:
• Research and explore different paths, careers, or environments that resonate with your evolving needs.
• List potential opportunities or areas of interest that you’d like to explore further.
• Consider the skills, resources, or support you may need to pursue these alternatives.

Step 5. Take Action:
• What do you need to do to get to where you want to be?
• Identify potential barriers or challenges and brainstorm strategies to overcome them.
• Commit to a first step. What action could you take to get you started?

Step 6. Embrace Growth and Adaptability:
• Understand that with change and growth comes discomfort. Acknowledge and embrace it as a natural part of the process that will ultimately get you moving forward.
• Cultivate a growth mindset and be open to learning, adapting, and evolving along the way.
• Celebrate your progress and small wins as you navigate the path toward a more fulfilling future.

Most importantly, remind yourself that you can do this!
I’ve got your back 😀
Cheers,
Penney
