Hi there – my name is Kaitlyn!

 

Equipped with a Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University, I am committed to using anti-oppressive and relational approaches in counselling.

 

I operate from the belief that our growth and healing happen in the context of safe relationships – both with ourselves and with others.

 

As such, I enjoy teaching strategies for self-compassion with an emphasis on mindfulness and gentleness toward ourselves. 
In addition, I have a particular passion for teaching distress tolerance skills, as well as using CBT, to assist clients as they navigate the ebbs and flows of life. 
 
A favorite quote of mine is, “We do not tell stories as they are, we tell stories as we are”. It is my privilege to be witness to client’s stories, and to work with clients to help them adjust their narrative for the purpose of creating a story that is more true to who they are. 
 
When I’m not in the office, I’ll probably be found inside crafting (sewing, crochet, etc) or outside playing with my family – camping in the summer, and sitting by the fire in the winter. I look forward to meeting you!
