Do I have to know what I need help with before I book?
Not at all — and honestly, most people don’t. If you have a sense that something isn’t right but aren’t sure where to start, that’s exactly what our Complimentary Connection Call is for. Fifteen minutes with your potential therapist, no commitment, no pressure. We’ll help you figure out the rest together.
What is a Complimentary Connection Call and how does it work?
It’s a free 15-minute phone call between you and a potential therapist. It’s your chance to ask questions, get a sense of their style and approach, and decide whether it feels like the right fit — with absolutely no obligation to book.
Most people tell us the call was much easier than they expected. And that they wished they’d done it sooner.
How do I book?
Easy. You can book a Complimentary Connection Call or a session directly through our website — just click Start Here in the menu.
You can also call us at 306.242.1010 or email us at wecanhelp@penneymurphy.com and we’ll help you find the right fit.
After booking you’ll receive a confirmation email with everything you need — date, time, session type, and your therapist’s name.
Do you offer in-person, virtual, and phone sessions?
Yes to all three. In-person sessions are available at our Stonebridge clinic in Saskatoon.
Virtual video sessions and phone sessions are available to clients anywhere in Saskatchewan.
How long are sessions?
Most sessions for adults, couples, kids, and teens are 60 minutes in length — a full hour, not 50 minutes.
If you’re working with Penney, you can choose between a 60-minute or 90-minute session.
What are your fees?

visit our [Fees & Coverage →] page.
Do you direct bill to insurance?
We don’t direct bill — but it’s simpler than it sounds. After each session we provide you with a detailed receipt that includes everything your insurance company needs. Most clients photograph or scan it and upload it to their insurer’s online portal. Reimbursement typically comes through within just a few days.
One important thing to check before you book: not all insurance plans cover all credential types. Some plans require a Registered Psychologist; others cover Registered Social Workers or Counsellors. We strongly recommend confirming which designations your plan covers before your first session so there are no surprises.
Our [Fees & Coverage →] page walks you through exactly how to do this.
I'm a City of Saskatoon employee. Am I covered?
Yes — if you or your family members are City of Saskatoon employees, your sessions are covered under the City of Saskatoon EFAP at no cost to you.
Please call our office directly at 306.242.1010 to get set up — we’ll make it smooth and easy.
What if I have an EFAP through my employer?
If your employer has an Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP) arrangement with PMA, your sessions — and your family’s sessions — may already be fully covered.
Call us at 306.242.1010 or email wecanhelp@penneymurphy.com and we’ll check for you in minutes.
What is your cancellation policy?
Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. We ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule — there’s no charge for cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice, or missed appointments, will be charged the full session fee.
To cancel or reschedule, please call us at 306.242.1010 — we’re always happy to help find you another time.
What if I'm not sure PMA is the right fit for me?
That’s what the Complimentary Connection Call is for — it takes the guesswork out completely.
And if after talking with us we feel we’re not the right fit for your specific needs, we’ll kindly refer you to another trusted therapist or resource.
We’d rather you get the right support that you need.
Do you see clients outside your listed specialties?
Sometimes what seems outside our scope turns out to be a great fit once we’ve had a conversation.
The best way to find out is to book a Complimentary Connection Call — we’ll tell you honestly whether we can help, and point you in the right direction if we can’t.
I still have questions. How do I get in touch?
We’d love to hear from you.
