Managing Burnout – The ‘No’ Practice
Saying ‘no’ can be an act of self-care. Burnout often comes from taking on too much. Learning to say “no” can be a powerful way to protect your energy. Here’s how to start:
- Assess whether each new task or responsibility aligns with your priorities
- Practice polite but firm responses like, “I’m sorry, I’m at capacity right now.”
- Recognize that saying “no” to others is saying “yes” to your well-being
- Set boundaries with your time and energy, and honor them
The more you practice saying no, the more you protect yourself from burnout.
