What is a Psychological Assessment?

A psychological assessment is a thorough evaluation conducted by Registered Psychologist Murray Heintz on our team, who has an Authorized Practice Endorsement (which means he has been approved
by the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists to communicate diagnoses).

The purpose of the assessment is to understand an individual’s cognitive abilities, learning, attention, or mental health and emotional functioning.

If you’re struggling with attention, mood, anxiety, or other concerns, an assessment can provide the answers you need.

Assessments & Testing offered on Saturdays

Murray offers psychological testing and diagnosis on Saturdays for:

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
Social Anxiety Disorder
Agoraphobia
Panic Disorder
Adjustment Disorders
Substance Abuse Disorders
Depressive Disorders including: Major Depressive Disorder, Persistent Depressive Disorder
      & Seasonal Affective Disorder

We Do NOT Assess

🚫 Cognitive testing – IQ tests, testing for mental disabilities or delays
🚫 Psychoeducational testing – IQ tests, learning disabilities

Our Assessment Process

We offer a personalized and professional approach to assessments. Here’s what you can expect:

  1. Background Consultation: Your assessment will begin with the gathering of comprehensive background information, including your developmental history, educational or work experiences, and family background.
  2. Testing & Assessment:  This involves a series of tasks, activities, and questionnaires specifically designed to assess various aspects of your issue of concern and to measure different areas of functioning.
  3. Evaluation & Report
You will receive a thorough & detailed report within 10 – 14 days outlining your strengths and any areas needing support, a diagnosis if applicable, along with practical recommendations for personal development, educational strategies, or workplace accommodations.
  4. 1-Hour Feedback Session – You will meet again in person once the evalutation and report are complete to discuss the findings, diagnosis (if applicable), and recommendations for support.
